Large-span sports halls and covered sports facilities designed for PE, exams, assemblies and year-round community use.
School sports facilities are under more pressure than ever.
As schools expand, existing facilities age and sports halls are expected to support a wider range of activities, creating additional indoor sports space has become a priority for many education providers.
That's where Smart-Space can help.
We design and install temporary education sports buildings that combine fast installation with the quality and durability of a permanent facility.
And because today's sports halls do much more than support PE, our buildings can be used in multiple ways, helping schools maximise the value of their investment.
Whether you're refurbishing an existing sports hall, responding to RAAC, expanding your facilities or recovering from fire, flooding or structural damage, schools need a practical way to maintain sport and wider school activities while longer-term solutions are put in place.
Smart-Space provides temporary education sports buildings that help schools continue operating with minimal disruption, whatever the reason.

When the sudden closure of the neighbouring Deepings Leisure Centre left The Deepings School without access to indoor sports facilities, the school needed an immediate solution that would minimise disruption to more than 1,300 students.
Working closely with the school, Smart-Space designed and installed a temporary sports hall that enabled PE lessons, exams, mock exams, after-school clubs and GCSE and BTEC sports qualifications to continue while a longer-term solution was developed. The building was connected to the existing school infrastructure, reducing installation time and avoiding the need for additional utilities.

In detail
Many schools, colleges and academy trusts hire their sports facilities to local clubs, community groups and sports organisations during evenings, weekends and school holidays. This reflects the wider role that school sports facilities increasingly play in supporting both education and the local community, and creates an additional income stream that helps maximise the return on your investment.

Creating a new sports building doesn't have to mean a significant capital investment or a permanent commitment.
For many schools, renting provides the flexibility to respond to changing requirements while spreading the cost over affordable monthly payments. It's a practical solution for projects where funding is still being finalised or the building is only needed for a fixed period.

Having delivered sports buildings for independent schools, colleges and academy trusts across the UK, we'll help you understand the available options and recommend the route that best supports your project.
