15mtr x 30mtr x 5mtr Steel-Clad Permanent Building Background

This was a typical case of someone approaching us and beginning with…. “I’d like a quote to buy a temporary building please.” And of course, like most, his idea when he called was to buy a temporary building with a PVC fabric roof, as this is what he’d been quoted by the other companies he’d called.

Solution

But when we established the location (Dungeness, Kent) and that there was already a level concrete base upon which to  install the building, it was pretty obvious a temporary building
was not going to provide them with best performance or long-term value for money.

So we agreed to supply a brand new 15mtr x 20mtr steel clad building with 40mm insulated roof and 40mm insulated wall cladding, in goose-wing grey with kingfisher blue flashings.

Because, given the potential for extreme wind given the location, coupled with their intention to use it for a number of years, as opposed to months; it made complete sense to supply a steel-clad building as opposed to a re-locatable temporary type.

You see, as we pointed out to this particular customer, there are two more important considerations when buying a ‘temporary’ building, which you probably don’t initially consider.

The first is that of lighting. You see, the steel clad buildings are supplied with clear roof panels to provide enough internal natural daylight to negate the need for any electric lighting at all, during normal daylight hours.

Which will add up to thousands of pounds in savings over a number of years of continuous use.

And then of course, there is the other hidden cost of on-going maintenance. Because the biggest benefit of all with the steel clad buildings is once they are installed to completion - there is no maintenance - they are totally maintenance-free.

But this isn’t the case with the re-locatable temporary buildings. Which of course isn’t an issue if you’re hiring because it’s the company’s responsibility to carry out any maintenance work, but if you’re buying; then clearly you could end up spending a considerable amount over the years you have it installed.
