Temporary Relocatable Buildings

With a temporary building, the PVC textile roof is fitted in a very similar manner to how a sail slides up a mast on a ship. As in, it slides from one side across the top to the other side through a rail which means the operatives do not have to stand on the roof of the building to fit it. This gives considerable cost savings.

Advantages

  • Ideal as an 'instant' temporary fix
  • No footings or foundations required
  • Can be secured to literally any ground surface (using either bolts or spikes)
  • No ground preparation needed ahead of installation
  • Can be extended or reduced in size, quickly and easily if your needs change
  • Fast to erect and fast to dismantle
  • Will even stand on sloping or uneven ground due to the flexibility of the PVC roof system

  • Very difficult to stop water ingress around the base without a raised pad or plinth. Check Steel Buildings for better water resistancy options.

FINANCIAL ADVANTAGES

The temporary buildings generally cost less than the Interim and Steel buildings because they lack installation and there are no working at height regulations to consider.

Advantages when buying:

  • Can be re-located from site to site to site as often as needed
  • Retain good re-sale values should you ever wish to sell.
  • Very rarely if ever charged rates as it's classed as transient

Advantages when hiring:

  • No capital outlay ahead of installation
  • No maintenance costs when hiring as it's the responsibility of the company who supply it.
  • Can be hired for as little or long as you need on flexible terms
  • Tax deductible as plant hire to reduce profits and corporation tax.
  • No additional base/groundwork costs if it's to be erected on existing ground.

FINANCIAL CONSIDERATIONS

The following considerations need to be born in mind:
  • They depreciate in value over time
  • Borrowing from asset finance companies can be tricky due to the portability.
  • PVC roof covers deteriorate over time and should be replaced every 10 years
  • Potential for on-going maintenance issues / costs (Electric roof inflation pumps)
  • Very costly to heat and cool due to the lack of insulation of the PVC fabric roof.
