Locomotive Workshop

If you think it takes months and months of planning and a seven figure sum to complete a new workshop, you’d be wrong.

We’ve just completed this brand new locomotive workshop for a company – who are delighted with the results.

It all began with us carrying out a full site investigation report to determine the current ground conditions, and to establish possible ground contamination issues.

Our in house design engineering team of Andy and Ross designed and certified the concrete foundation to meet building control requirements.

And we then designed, supplied and installed the steel clad building of dimensions 12.5mtr x 25mtr x 6.5mtr.

It was supplied with slate blue 40mm composite cladding with a number of clear roof panels to allow in natural daylight.

We also removed the existing frontage of their workshop and also over-cladded their existing building so the entire shed now looks brand new.

So whilst you might not need a new workshop for servicing locomotives, if you think you’re going to need any kind of extension or new building in the coming months, why not give us a call.

Because we’re confident you’ll be delighted with the savings we can help you make, and above all; delighted with the result, as Neil Smith of SB Rail is:

The lads that carried out the work are a credit to Smart-Space both in their work rate and communications with ourselves throughout the whole build.
Even though we had a heavy snow fall during the build process they still worked through it and delivered the finished product on time.
