One of the things that really sets us apart (and I’m not just saying that, I really think we do things differently) is how we listen, understand and come up with solutions. We do this time and time again for so many of our clients that we tend to take it for granted.
I have a client, based on a prominent industrial park in Heathrow, who had a specific challenge that they presented us with. They needed to be able to load up their fleet of vans under cover to allow for the inclement British weather. They deliver sandwiches all over London and so it was really important that the products stay dry and fresh.
The landlord of the park didn’t like the idea of having anything that looked temporary or with a PVC roof on their most prestigious site.
I went along to view the space and gave it some thought. Having talked it over with the guys at Smart-Space I came up with a design for bespoke loading canopies (see images) which look great – they blend in and look as though they have been there since day one.
Not only did we manufacture these specifically but I also created a flexible deal to allow the client to rent them long term which they were delighted with. “We choose Smart-Space because they came up with a design that the standard rental companies could not achieve. Having the silver steel roof instead of the PVC one enabled us to keep our landlord happy and keep our business moving forward. My MD is that impressed he may need another two more.”
This is just one example of how Smart-Space genuinely goes the extra mile, offers options and aims to give the customer exactly what they need. We do enjoy that part of the business as well, it gives us interesting problems to solve! We can use that knowledge and experience with other customers as well.
